Mission

Welcome to Lens of Impact! This is my little corner of the web where my passions for photography and supporting the deaf community come together. I’m Katie, the founder of the project. My goal is not only to show, through my lens, the deep bonds between guide dogs and their handlers, but also to educate others on ways to make the lives of the deaf community more equitable. 

 

Some of these dogs are deaf guide dogs, amazing animals that help their humans navigate this world. Whether guide dogs or not, all of them provide much-needed support, giving their humans a sense of security and camaraderie. Each photo session brings out their unique personalities, hard work, and the special connection they have with their humans.

 

Lens of Impact is more than just a photography organization. It’s a way to use my art for something bigger than myself. I pledge to donate 100% of all proceeds to organizations that support the training and care of guide dogs, with a focus on those who help the deaf community, as well as spread awareness to all owners that I meet, whether it be through a booked session or just a spontaneous offer on the street.

 

By scheduling a session, you are not only capturing memories of your dog but also helping to make a real difference in the lives of people who depend on these amazing animals. The pictures from the sessions fuels my work and allows my message to spread to a larger audience.
